Team Nigeria’s Chef De Mission to Birmingham 2022, Dr Simon Ebhojiaye says discipline, focus and determination got the country the success she achieved at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Ebhojiaye, who is the Director of Federations and Elite Athletes Department(FEAD) in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development praised the Sports Minister Sunday Dare and the Permanent Secretary of the Sports Ministry for their exemplary leadership and guidance in making the success in Birmingham a reality.

“I strongly believe that success cannot just happen by accident. You have to plan for it.
“The athletes too were disciplined, focussed and very determined to succeed. So it was a case of preparation meeting opportunity.
“The leadership that the Honourable Minister Sunday Dare and the Permanent Secretary Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar provided set the tone for all that we achieved in Birmingham,” the Chef De Mission stated.
