“Henry (Nwosu) played a very big role in my life. Back in the day in Ajegunle, Nwosu invited his friend, then Eaglets coach (Fanny Amun), to watch me play at the Navy Barracks early in the morning,” Udeze said.

In response, Nwosu, a former national team star, said his focus has always been on supporting young talents.

“When I see a promising player, I do my best to encourage them. I saw potential in you (Udeze), so I asked Amun to come and watch.”

His account revealed how Nwosu’s belief in his potential led to a recommendation that would alter his career path.

Udeze went on to forge a professional career in Greece and England, spanning clubs including Kavala, PAOK, West Brom, and AEK Athens, as well as 35 international caps for Nigeria, Udeze remains a legacy figure in Nigerian football.
