Egypt head coach, Hossam Hassan, has officially announced his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Hassan picked 27 players and is expected to cut the team’s size by one after the May 28 tune up game against Russia.
As expected, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush headline the squad as Egypt prepares for another major international campaign under Hassan.

One of the biggest talking points from the squad announcement is the inclusion of highly rated youngster Hamza Abdel Karim.
His selection reflects Hossam Hassan’s clear intention to integrate young talents into the senior national team while building for the future.
Hamza enjoyed an impressive run with Egypt’s youth sides in recent tournaments.
During the 2025 Under 17 Africa Cup of Nations, he scored twice and delivered a Man of the Match performance against Angola, helping Egypt secure qualification for the FIFA Under 17 World Cup.
At the 2025 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, the talented forward registered two goals and one assist as the Young Pharaohs reached the Round of 16.

The young attacker is an Al Ahly SC player currently on loan at FC Barcelona, where he plays for the club’s youth team and continues to develop as one of Egypt’s brightest prospects.

Another notable inclusion is rising forward Oktay Abdullah, who currently plays for ENPPI SC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Abdullah has been regarded as one of the country’s emerging attacking talents and now earns a major opportunity with the senior national team setup.
The squad also features experienced names such as Mohamed El Shenawy, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Mahmoud Trezeguet.
Emam Ashour and Ibrahim Adel as Egypt looks to balance youth and experience ahead of the global tournament.
