Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has backed his colleagues in the national team to step up and get the job done in faraway Cape Verde in his absence.
The Leicester City striker will miss the world cup qualifying tie alongside other UK-based players due to UK Covid-19 restrictions on travels.
Iheanacho who opened his 2022 world cup qualifying campaign on a bright note with a brace in the 2-0 win against Liberia last Friday expressed frustration on the circumstances of things but stressed that he must abide by the ruling of the UK and that of his clubs just as other Premier League clubs have mandated players on travel concerns and zones not to go.
