Nigeria’s Falconets have qualified for the third round of the 2024 U-20 women’s World Cup qualifiers.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their X handle, the Falconets’ second round opponent Mauritius have withdrawn.
The first-leg was initially scheduled to hold next week in Mauritius.
Mauritius qualified for the second round of the qualifiers after earning a walk over against Chad.
Two teams will represent Africa at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
At the 2022 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Costa Rica, the Falconets got to the quarter-finals.
However, a 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands saw them exit the tournament.
The Falconets were U-20 World Cup finalists in 2010 and 2014, losing to Germany on both occasions.
