Former Super Eagles star, John Ogu has warned CAF not to deprived Victor Osimhen the African Player of the Year Award.
Recall that Osimhen was one of the 30 nominees for the 2023 Africa Player of the Year award alongside the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, and Riyad Mahrez.
However, Ogu via his official X handle formerly known as Twitter, he stated that the Nigerian international has done enough to win the award.
He urged CAF to follow in the footstep of the Ballon d’Or award by naming the right player fpr the CAF award.

“Dear [CAF], I’m sure y’all saw the whole Ballon d’Or setting last night. This is exactly how we want such an award to be delivered and well organised for our star boy [Osimhen] as the best player in Africa. Thank you in advance,” he said.
The Nigerian international scored 26 goals for Napoli last season and led them to their first Serie A title in 33 years.
He was also the top goal-scorer during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 10, according to TransferMarkt.
