Bendel Insurance goalkeeper Amas Obasogie will take the place of Maduka Okoye in Super Eagles’ squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Okoye pulled out of the games against the Likuena and Warriors on Monday.
The Super Eagles technical crew moved quickly by drafting in Obasogie to take his place.

The 23-year-old is currently rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The shot stopper was pivotal to Bendel Insurance’s Federation Cup success last season.
Obasogie also cut eye after saving two spot kicks in the Benin Arsenals’ CAF Confederation Cup win against ASO Chlef of Algeria in August.
He is expected to arrive the Super Eagles Four Points Hotel camp on Tuesday.
