NFF, Ajax, Betis Celebrate Finidi George At 53

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ajax and Real Betis have sent birthday greetings to Super Eagles legend Finidi George who clocked 53 years on Monday.
The NFF and the European clubs sent their wishes via their X handles.
“Happy birthday Coach George Finidi ,” the NFF wrote.
Ajax wrote:”Fiiiniiidiii! .”
“Happy birthday, Finidi George!”
While Betis stated:”Today we celebrate the birthday of the great Finidi! .
“Enjoy your day! .”
Finidi was assistant to Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro at the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 AFCON in Tunisia.
He also featured at the 1992, 2000 and 2002 AFCONs.

The former right winger scored the decisive goal in the 1-1 draw against Algeria that sealed the 1994 World Cup ticket for the Eagles.
Aside the 1994 World Cup, he represented Nigeria at the 1998 World Cup edition in France.
At club level, he played a key role as Ajax won the 1995 UEFA Champions League.
After departing Ajax in 1996, he joined Betis and also played for Ipswich Town and Mallorca.
