According to Italian report Gianluca Di Marzio, Liverpool FC have apparently made an offer to Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who will be out of contract at the end of the season. The report mostly focuses on Napoli, who are said to be competing with MLS side Chicago Fire, but makes a mention of the Reds having “offered” the Belgian playmaker a deal.
Di Marzio hasn’t scooped a Liverpool transfer correctly in a long time, so this seems rather unlikely just from that angle… but considering how hard Arne Slot has rode his midfielders this season, Kevin should make a downpayment on new prosthetic limbs if he’s really keen on making the short trip to Merseyside.
It appears this story is nothing more than a “yeah, he grew up a fan of Liverpool” and connecting those two dots together. I had a good laugh, and so should you.
