Nigeria’s Super Falcons is set to launch their quest for a record‑extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title on Sunday when they face Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca (17:00 WAT).

The Group B fixture is the first step in what the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has branded “Mission X.”

At the campaign’s launch in June, NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi declared:

“We are committed to fully supporting the Super Falcons’ campaign for a 10th continental title.”

”That is why we are launching the Mission X campaign to sensitize football‑loving Nigerians at home and in the diaspora … to come out and support the team.”

”The Super Falcons remain the most decorated national team in African football.”

Preparation and Friendlies

Interim head coach, Justine Madugu took his squad through a six‑day Abuja camp before relocating to Lisbon, Portugal, for final tune‑ups. In two warm‑up matches, Nigeria drew 0‑0 with Portugal and defeated Ghana 3-1.

Madugu said confidence is high:

“We are very focused on our realisable and achievable target of Mission X.”

”The players are ready and are showing real hunger for victory and team spirit is high.”

”We are looking forward to our first match on Sunday against Tunisia.”

”We missed out on the last one so we just want to help the team achieve Mission X.”

”To do that, we have to give 100 percent on the pitch, try to win every game we play and treat every game as equal and important.”

Skipper Ajibade added:

“For us, effort is everything. We’ll demonstrate what we’re capable of and continue to build on our existing strengths.”

”We know it won’t be easy but we’re committed to showing up as our best selves.”
