Former Inter Milan and Nigerian international, Obinna Nsofor says he would like to see Victor Osimhen move to one of the biggest clubs in world football despite his success at Galatasaray.
Osimhen helped Galatasaray to a successful title defence in the Turkish Super Lig, and Nsofor praised the striker’s influence at the club over the past two seasons.
“Congratulations on Osimhen winning the second time in a row for Galatasaray,” Nsofor said on Brila Media’s Breakfast show ‘ No Holds Barred’.
“It’s not easy so many of us think it’s easy, but, it isn’t at all.”
“Osimhen has been a major player for Galatasaray in the last two seasons both in the UEFA Champions League and the league as well.”
Take Next Big Step

The former Super Eagles forward admitted that he hopes to see Osimhen make a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
“As his fellow Nigerian I will want to see him in the best club in the world just like Ademola Lookman transferred from Atalanta to Atletico Madrid.
“Everyone is happy for him and I am hoping someone like Osimhen gets those kind of clubs.”
Nsofor however acknowledged that transfers at the highest level involve several factors beyond the player’s control.
“But at the end of the day it’s not only up to Osimhen, there are so many things involved in that aspect and I believe it’s time for him to play for the best clubs in the world, it’s just my opinion.”
While describing Galatasaray as a major club, Nsofor stressed that the Turkish side are still not among the leading contenders to win the UEFA Champions League.
“Galatasaray no doubt are also a big club, but, when it comes to competing to the highest level trying to win the UEFA Champions League you can’t count Galatasaray among the favorites at this moment.
“Perhaps they have bigger plans to be able to get more players to win the UEFA Champions League.”
Nsofor also stated that winning the UEFA Champions League could elevate Osimhen to the very top of global football rankings among strikers.

“The only thing I see stopping Victor Osimhen from being number one striker in the world is the UEFA Champions League. If he wins the UEFA Champions League no one will say he’s number three, you will say he is the best.”
“Comparing him to strikers like Harry Kane and co right now, he’ll be considered outside the top 3.
“So my prayer is that if there is possibility to leave Galatasaray this summer he should go and take the opportunity.”
Obinna Nsofor won the Serie A title and the Supercoppa in 2009 with Inter Milan.
Interestingly, the Serie A crown remains one of the major achievements Osimhen also secured during his spell with Napoli.
