Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis has been integrated back into the fold at Brøndby after a proposed move away failed to materialize prior to the summer transfer deadline.
The 28-year-old had originally received permission to find a new team, but a prolonged pre-season injury kept him off the pitch for months and ultimately derailed any potential deal. Sporting director Julius Ohnesorge had openly confirmed that both the Danish outfit and the former Watford and Nottingham Forest attacker were actively pursuing a transfer.
With the window now shut, Dennis has rejoined first-team sessions and made his maiden outing under newly installed head coach Thomas Nørgaard in a 1-1 friendly contest against IK Sirius.
Speaking to Bold, Nørgaard explained that Dennis received targeted guidance and support to bridge the tactical gap after such an extended absence, noting that the forward will now be assessed fairly alongside his peers based entirely on merit.
Dennis, who committed to a contract running through 2028 upon his arrival in January, recorded a solitary goal in 11 Danish Superliga appearances last campaign. He is now setting his sights on making a competitive comeback when Brøndby take on Lyngby on October 11.
